THE SLOGAN

CHANGE TODAY FOR A BETTER TOMORROW

The last two years have been rough and challenging for companies and society. A once in-a-century pandemic, in which we still find ourselves, devastated lives and economies and moreover requires flexible leaders and open mindsets. But while Covid-19 was on everyone’s lips, it is far from the only challenge businesses and society face nowadays. Climate change hit harder than ever with bigger storms, increasing number of deadly floods and longer and hotter heat waves. 2021 is on track to be one of the hottest years in human history and IPCC report shows extreme weather events will worsen further.

Amid the current crisis, a generation has found its voice and demands changes from government and businesses who to start listening, understanding and acting. This has been demonstrated by the purpose driven business movement. Companies need to tell their story and give a recognizable meaning to what they are reaching for in the future. We must change for a better tomorrow with meaning and no empty promises.

"Purpose-driven companies witness higher market share gains and grow three times faster on average than their competitors, all while achieving higher workforce and customer satisfaction"
Deloitte 2019

With “Vision Zero”, the connectUS team 2022 have developed our own framework to guide this year’s team and delegation. “Vision Zero” highlights negative actions and attitudes we aim to eliminate to create a better tomorrow.

Zero waste of resources
The resource scarcity around the globe must be successfully addressed; a sustainable production process is key to achieving the survival of our planet. The perspective of improving the supply chain leads us to topics to be examined including supply chain management, lean management, and the concept of the circular economy. The efficient use of resources in production and throughout the supply chain offers a vision of zero waste of resources.

Zero insignificance
Finding meaning in our actions is what drives mankind. Feeling purpose in our working life is generally recognized as an essential motivating factor in today’s world. That’s why today’s employees also care for their company’s purpose. Through climate change and its consequences, employees and consumers are more aware of a company’s environmental footprint. Moreover, even consumers’ buying preferences move towards products based on the company’s underlying idea, branding and reputation, and whether it is justifiable. This clearly shows that to drive profit, companies need to have zero insignificance and deliver a narrative representing a purpose.

Zero Delusion
With our delegation being in the last year of their studies, job search is around the corner. When
applying for a position, several factors are considered. Employees want to be a part of an organization and identify with the values it delivers. Organizations are expected to be authentic and not delusional for the aim of recruiting and retaining talent.

Get to know all our zeros

All together, “Vision Zero” guides connectUS22 to learn how businesses can act in a more purpose-oriented manner along with the idea of sustainability for oneself and the community. We are very much looking forward into insightful discussions and speeches, broadening our horizon.
